Itinerary
DAY 01: Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted through customs and formalities, then transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
DAY 02: Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the world's largest collection of artifacts from the era of the pharaohs including some belonging to King Tut. Tour Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit sites like the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Moallaka Church, where the Virgin Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus took refuge. After lunch, drive to the Islamic quarter to visit the Great Citadel and visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the "Alabaster Mosque". Enjoy a walking tour of the colorful Khan El Khalili Bazaar district. Overnight in Cairo. (B/L)
DAY 03: Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the defending Sphinx, which have stood for the last 5000 years. Continue to ancient Memphis, the first capital of Upper and Lower Egypt. Also visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. Overnight in Cairo. (B/L)
DAY 04: The day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo. (B
DAY 05: You will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Optional excursion to Abu Simbel available. (Your flight continues to Abu Simbel. Visit the Great Temples of Ramses II. Stand before the colossal statue of the Pharaoh with smaller statues of his wife Nefertari and daughters at his feet. After this visit, fly to Aswan.) Upon arrival at Aswan Airport, you will be transferred to your Deluxe Nile Cruise Boat for a 5-day/4-night Nile cruise. Accommodations aboard will consist of an Outside Cabin with private facilities. Afternoon sail by felucca for an outside visit to the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 06: Visit the High Dam, Old Dam, Philae Temple, and the Granite Quarries. Sail to Edfu. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 07: Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all the large Egyptian Temples. Sail to Luxor. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 08: Cross the Nile to the West Bank. Visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Colossi of Memnon, Queen Hatshepsut Funerary Temple, and the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Visit Luxor Temple dedicated to the god Amon-Ra. It was expanded by Ramses II, who added statues of himself. Visit the magnificent Karnak Temple. Overnight on board. (B/L/D)
DAY 09: After disembarkation, Fly to Sharm El sheik (B)
DAY 10: The day is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach in Sharm(B)
DAY 11: Aqaba Port OR Arava Border – Wadi Rum -Petra
Transfer from sharm to Nuweiba for your ferry to Aqaba upon arrival meet & assist by Avatar Travel representative at Aqaba Port OR Arava Border visiting Wadi Rum, where the movie Lawrence of Arabia and Red Planet was filmed is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors. Amongst this emptiness and silence you can camp and explore the desert in 4x4 Jeeps visiting the holographic pictures carved before Christ on this intriguing tour, after tour transfer to Petra for Overnight
DAY 12: Petra – Aqaba Port
Full Day visiting the rose-red city known as Sela in the Bible and lost to the world for five centuries until it was rediscovered in 1812. Enter Petra on horseback through the Canyon of the Crescent Moon carved through the sandstone and opening on the stunning view of the Treasury, made famous in the movie “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade”. Visit the palace, the High Palaces and the Roman-Style Palace Tomb, then transfer to Aqaba Port or Arava Border for upon arrival transfer to Sharm.
DAY 13: You will be transferred to Sharm Airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
DAY 14: You will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your return flight. (B)
