7 Day Oasis Adventure
Itinerary
Day 1 – Cairo
Upon your arrival at Cairo International airport you will be met by your Avatar Representative and transferred to your 5 star deluxe hotel located in the shadows of the Great Pyramid. The rest of your day is free at leisure to rest and recuperate from the flight.
Day 2 – Cairo/Sakkara/Giza Pyramids/Alexandria
After your breakfast you will check out of your hotel and begin our Cairo adventure. You will begin your day with a visit to Sakkara and the Temple of the Sun. After lunch at a local restaurant you will visit the Giza Plateau and Sphinx Temple. After your tour of these ancient wonders you will board your air conditioned motor coach and take a scenic drive to Alexandria where you will check in to your 5 star deluxe hotel.
Day 3 – Alexandria
After breakfast you will begin your Alexandria tour by visiting the Royal Jewelry museum. This museum was once the palace of King Fatma Al-Zahra', and houses many rare paintings and pieces of jewelry from the 19th Dynasty. After your visit to the museum you will continue to the catacombs of Alexandria. This necropolis consists of a series tombs tunneled into the bedrock before the 2nd century ACE. The catacombs were in use approximately from the 2nd century to the 4th century. After your tour of the catacombs you will have lunch at the famous San Giovanni Restaurant. After lunch you will visit the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. This lighthouse was built in the third century BCE by Ptolemy I on the island of Pharos. The height of the lighthouse was between 345 and 450 feet tall (115 and 150 meters) making it one of the tallest structures of the ancient world, second only to the Great Pyramids of Giza. After visiting this beautiful structure you will return to your hotel to have dinner and a walk along the beach of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 4 – Alexandria/Siwa Oases
After an early breakfast you will board your air conditioned motor coach for your drive to Siwa with a lunch break and rest stop in the gateway to the western desert ~~ Mersa Matruh. After lunch at this seaport you will drive to Siwa and check into your hotel where you will have the rest of your day free to rest, relax, shop, and wander around the oases. Enjoy dinner in your hotel.
Day 5 – Siwa Oases
After breakfast in your hotel you will visit the Temple of Alexander the Great, the temple of Un Ubayda, and Cleopatra’s bath. After lunch you will use 4-wheel drive vehicles to take you to unusual landforms, remote oases, and the great sand dunes of the great sand sea ~~ The Sahara. Using the local mode of transportation (donkey carts), you will tour and explore the palm groves. You will have the opportunity to try the special olives and olive oil. Sample the special variety of dates. You will have dinner in your hotel.
Day 6 – Siwa/Cairo
In the morning you will check out of your hotel, tour the ancient village and fortress of Shali, and begin the scenic drive across the desert to Cairo. After a lunch and restroom stop, you will arrive in the late afternoon to your hotel in the Pyramids area of Cairo. You will have the evening free to rest and prepare for your flight home.
Day 7 – Cairo International Airport
After breakfast you will check out of your hotel and be escorted to the Cairo International Airport for your return flight home.
